Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is looking for Geotechnical Engineers & Engineering Geologists at all levels across the UK. Opportunities exist for full-time or part-time positions, offering flexibility to work from home up to two days a week.

The ideal candidates will produce professional reports, analyze geotechnical structures, and manage client liaison, while benefiting from comprehensive health and wellbeing programmes, and support for career progression including chartership.

Qualifications

• Fundamental appreciation of ground risk and site investigation.
• Good grasp of basic soil mechanics and engineering principles.
• Ambition to progress towards chartered status.

Job description

We are looking for Geotechnical Engineers & Engineering Geologists at all levels across the UK.

Roles are available on either a full-time or a part-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Produce professional and technically competent reports and liaise with specialists and clients.
• Prepare ground models and design parameters.
• Analyze slopes, walls, foundations and other geotechnical structures.
• Provide support in all aspects of project delivery, including client liaison and coordination with colleagues from other disciplines.
• Contribute to the implementation of higher sustainability and better use of 3D data in project delivery.
• Site based work supervising ground investigation and construction.
• Use WSP’s newly developed geotechnical training framework to develop yourself and colleagues across all grades, promoting a culture of learning.
• For experienced professionals, take a lead in critical business development, complex projects and mentoring staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• Fundamental appreciation of ground risk and site investigation.
• Good grasp of basic soil mechanics and engineering principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to generate high quality reports and design deliverables.
• Ambition to progress towards chartered status.
• For experienced professionals, demonstrable and credible consultancy and ground risk management experience.
