Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in Nottingham to join a ground investigation team. The role offers thorough training, varied work, and clear progression within the team.

The successful candidate will supervise drilling rigs, write factual and interpretive reports, conduct Phase 1 and 2 investigations, log soils/rocks, and monitor groundwater and gas. Flexibility and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in geotechnical engineering, applied/engineering geology or civil engineering with a focus on ground investigation and soil mechanics.
• Live in or near Derby.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel for work.
• Have the full right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drilling rigs on site and in the office across a range of ground investigation projects.
• Write factual and interpretive reports.
• Carry out Phase 1 Desktop studies and Phase 2 investigations.
• Soil and rock logging; groundwater and gas monitoring.
