Geotechnical Director

Location: Northampton (Hybrid / Flexible Working Available)

Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000

A strategic leadership opportunity with one of the UK's leading ground engineering consultancies has become available in Northampton. This senior leadership role offers the chance to take a lead on a wide range of geotechnical projects across the UK, working with clients spanning house builders, utilities, local authorities, land agents and private developers.

The Geotechnical Director role will involve:

* Leading complex geotechnical projects from concept to delivery

* Managing project budgets, timelines, quality, and client expectations

* Liaising with clients.

* Supporting business development, proposals, and strategic growth initiatives

* Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

* Providing expert support to ground investigation teams across projects

* Providing high-level technical guidance and oversight on:

* Slope stability and retaining structures

* Earthworks and ground improvement

* Basement Impact Assessments (BIA)

* HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) design

* Geotechnical risk management (GMA, GIR, GDR)

To be considered for this Geotechnical Director you must have:

* Degree-qualified in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.

* Be chartered or working towards it.

* Significant experience in geotechnical consultancy

* Strong track record of project leadership, client engagement, and technical delivery

* Confident in managing multidisciplinary teams and providing mentoring

* Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

The Geotechnical Director selected will be offered:

* Starting salary from £75,000+ (negotiable depending on experience)
