Job summary

Bouygues Construction's VSL International division seeks an experienced Design Engineer to support geotechnical and foundation works on the Lower Thames Crossing. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will develop practical, buildable solutions for deep foundations, coordinate with construction teams and consultants, and ensure designs meet safety and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status (ICE or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Experience in civil engineering design for major infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
• Experience with deep foundations, piling, diaphragm walls or geotechnical works.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and supporting construction delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs for piling, diaphragm walls and deep foundation works.
• Prepare design calculations, reports and drawings.
• Coordinate design interfaces between design, construction and temporary works.
• Support value engineering to improve safety, efficiency and cost.
• Mentor Graduate and Junior Engineers where appropriate.
