Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join Bristol’s growing geotechnical team. You will take ownership of selected projects, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to a varied workload including permanent and temporary works.

The role offers structured support toward chartership and professional development. As part of the geotechnical group you will deliver designs, review colleagues’ work, prepare reports, and liaise with clients.

Qualifications

• Graduate or intermediate engineer progressing toward chartership.
• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Experience on UK projects and familiarity with UK standards and practice.
• Chartered status, or progress toward chartership, with a professional body such as CEng or CGeol.
• Strong technical reporting and collaborative working skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver geotechnical designs for permanent and temporary works.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies and options appraisals.
• Review and check designs and coordinate with engineers and technicians.
• Mentor junior colleagues and collaborate across offices and disciplines.
• Undertake site inspections and geotechnical surveys as required.

An opportunity is available for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the growing geotechnical team in Bristol. You will take ownership of selected projects, collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and contribute to a varied workload covering permanent and temporary works. The Role:

You will play a key technical role in delivering geotechnical designs, reviewing and checking the work of others, and coordinating with engineers and technicians. Alongside design delivery, you will prepare technical reports, feasibility and options studies, liaise with clients and undertake site inspections and geotechnical surveys where required.

About you:

• An experienced graduate or intermediate engineer progressing toward chartership
• A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a closely related discipline
• Relevant geotechnical engineering experience, with the ability to take ownership of design delivery
• Experience of UK projects and familiarity with relevant UK standards and engineering practice
• Chartered status, or progress towards chartership, with a recognised professional body such as CEng or CGeol
• Strong technical reporting, communication and collaborative working skills

Experience in rail, bridges, buildings or temporary works would complement the team's varied project portfolio.

Above all, you will bring sound engineering judgement, a practical approach to problem-solving and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
