Job summary

6 Alpha Associates is seeking a Geophysicist to focus on processing and interpreting geophysical datasets for UXO risk mitigation. The role will be supported by a Senior Geophysicist and training on bespoke methods.

After a training period, the position will be predominantly remote with occasional on-site meetings at the Woolpit office in Suffolk, UK. The team values opportunity to contribute to R&D developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Geology or a related field.
• Beneficial: industry experience in geophysical survey or UXO risk management.
• Familiar with geophysical software such as Oasis montaj, SeaView, SonarWiz or ArcMap/QGIS.
• Understanding of land, aerial or marine survey fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• The Geophysicist will process and interpret geophysical UXO survey datasets for risk mitigation projects.
• Data may be collected on-site with 6 Alpha's indigenous survey team; collaborate with Senior Geophysicist.

Job description

Due to continuing growth, 6 Alpha Associates are seeking a Geophysicist to expand our existing Geophysics team. They will be supported by, and report directly to a Senior Geophysicist, and with their guidance, will focus on the processing and interpretation of geophysical datasets for the purposes of determining potential UXO.

Following an initial training and settling in period, this role will be predominantly remote working with occasional infrequent contact time required on a project and team needs basis. This position is based at the Woolpit office, in Suffolk, UK.

Responsibilities

The Geophysicist will be involved in the processing and interpretation of geophysical UXO survey datasets for UXO risk mitigation projects, including land and marine data, and may also include opportunities to acquire the data on-site with 6 Alpha's indigenous survey team. They will be trained on our bespoke methods and software for geophysical data processing and interpretation to meet project specific requirements and deadlines.

Alongside the Chief Geophysicist, the Geophysicist will have the opportunity to feed into the latest R&D developments at 6 Alpha.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Geology or a related field;
