The school is a large secondary school serving the north Nottingham city centre community. It has recently been nationally recognised for their significantly improved GCSE results, rewarded through a comprehensive and targeted improvement scheme that has set the school on course for an expected grading improvement from its current Ofsted rating of Requires Improvement. Additions and improvements to the leadership team have resulted in a more focussed set of pupil expectations and also strengthened processes and resources to ensure that these expectations are met.
About the Role
- Teacher of Geography (exclusively) to KS3 and KS4 (with the possibility of KS5 being required, dependant on department requirements)
- Form / tutor group responsibilities
- Full time and ongoing, with the applicant eligible to be considered for the permanent position
- Lesson planning, delivery and assessment required
- Attendance at parents evenings and any other required events outside of teaching hours
Candidate Requirements
- Specialist in teaching Geography
- Holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) proven by providing your Teacher Reference Number
- Experience of working as a teacher in a British curriculum school for a minimum of two terms since obtaining QTS (including inductions terms for ECT's)
- Full enhanced DBS certificate
- Completion of the Merit Education Onboarding Process
- The ability to show a genuine desire and passion for working as a teacher
- A minimum of 2 school based references
