An established geoscience and offshore energy consultancy is looking for a Geospatial Developer to join its UK-based team, with opportunities to work from Newcastle, Aberdeen, Glasgow or London 🌍

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex spatial data into smart, scalable web applications. The Geospatial Developer will design, build and maintain geospatial tools that support offshore wind and energy projects, working closely with engineers, geoscientists and developers across disciplines.

The role spans full-stack development, geospatial analysis and data engineering, from slick front ends to robust back ends, with plenty of opportunity to get involved in R&D, proposals and technical innovation 💡

What they’ll be doing:
  • Developing geospatial web applications (front end and back end) 💻
  • Building and optimising spatial databases and data pipelines
  • Automating geospatial workflows using Python and open-source tools
  • Performing spatial and 3D analysis for offshore infrastructure projects
  • Supporting containerised (Docker) environments and application testing
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary geoscience and engineering teams
  • Contributing to reports, technical notes and business development
What they’ll bring:
  • A degree in Computer Science, GIS, Geospatial Technology or similar
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with geospatial platforms and libraries (e.g. ESRI, QGIS, GDAL, GeoPandas)
  • An interest in offshore, marine or renewable energy projects ⚡🌊
  • A collaborative mindset, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

This is a great opportunity for a geospatial professional looking to grow their technical skills, work on impactful energy projects and be part of a forward-thinking geoscience team 🚀
