Job summary

TipTopJob in Oxford is recruiting an Engineering Geologist to join our expanding ground investigation and environmental team. You will work on a diverse portfolio from early-stage assessment through to remediation and delivery, supporting projects across the region.

You will supervise fieldwork, coordinate contractors, prepare technical reports, assess contaminated land and geotechnical risks, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Engineering Geology, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Knowledge of Phase I & Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and ground investigation practices.
• Strong understanding of environmental and geotechnical regulations.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and supervise ground investigation works on various sites.
• Coordinate fieldwork activities and maintain technical standards.
• Manage subcontractors and external contractors during projects.
• Prepare factual and interpretative technical reports.
• Undertake contaminated land and geotechnical risk assessments.
• Assist with Phase I and Phase II site investigations.
• Monitor progress to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Maintain project documentation and records.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders professionally.
• Provide practical recommendations based on geological findings.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental procedures are followed.
• Mentor junior team members when required.
