Job summary

Stantec invites applications for a geo-environmental professional to supervise field assignments and deliver technical reports. You will monitor groundwater and gas levels, liaise with contractors and clients, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.

A CSCS card, First Aid, and UK driving licence are essential. Post-graduate qualifications in environmental science, geology, or civil engineering are required, with strong knowledge of BS EN 5930 and NHBC/EA guidance.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate experience in a geo-environmental industry.
• Experience with Contractors or geotechnical/Geoenvironmental work desirable.
• Knowledge of BS EN 5930, EA LC:RM, NHBC Standards.
• Supervision, reporting and management of geo-environmental assignments.
• Monitoring of gas and groundwater levels; groundwater sampling.
• Liaison with sub-contractors and clients to deliver projects.
• Technical report writing (Desk Studies).
• Strong Health & Safety commitment and environmental protection.
• CSCS card; SSSTS or IOSH site supervisor certificate.
• First Aid training.
• Cat and Genny trained.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

About You

• Post-graduate experience in a geo-environmental industry.
• Experience working for a Contractor and/or geotechnical/Geoenvironmental experience would also be highly desirable.
• Good working knowledge of relevant and up to date British Standards (eg BS EN 5930), Industry Guidance (eg EA LC:RM) and NHBC Standards.
• Supervision, reporting and management of geo-environmental assignments.
• Monitoring of gas and groundwater levels and groundwater sampling.
• Liaison with sub-contractors and clients assisting in the delivery of projects.
• Technical report writing (including Desk Studies).
• Strong commitment to Health and Safety and environmental protection during ground investigations.
• Self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• A proactive and independent thinker with an enthusiastic approach to work.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
• CSCS card

Qualifications

• A BSc, MSc or BEng or higher qualification in a relevant subject (Environmental Science geology, civil engineering, environmental science, and Earth Sciences).
