Job summary

RSK Geosciences in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Geo-Environmental Engineer for a full-time, permanent role based on site. The team provides consultancy and design services to engineers, house-builders, oil companies and local authorities, offering CPD and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BSc or equivalent in Geology, Environmental Science or similar.
• MSc desirable but not essential.
• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• Working towards membership of a professional body with goal to chartership.
• Basic knowledge of planning legislation.
• Experience of site inspections and reporting, preferably on residential developments.
• Able to complete factual and interpretative assessments to a basic level.
• Able to deliver projects within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Participating in geo-environmental projects for external clients and internal teams.
• Assisting with ground investigations and desk studies.
• Soil logging to current UK standards, including laboratory scheduling.
• Experience of soil sampling and water monitoring/sampling.
• Writing factual and interpretative reports.
• Familiarity with geotechnical reporting is a plus.
• Knowledge of contaminated land legislation and reporting requirements.
• Preparing factual site investigation data.
• Travel to other offices and sites within the UK as needed.
