Job description

Our client is looking for a Geo-Environmental Consultant to support upcoming projects for external clients and a growing portfolio of work. You will help drive the development of the business area and undertake land and ground investigations.

Company

Expert environmental consultancy who have been providing services for developers, planners, local authorities, and private clients across the UK for nearly 25 years. They cover geotechnical and contaminated land site investigation and interpretation as well as noise impact assessments, air quality monitoring and thermal imaging surveys

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out site walkovers and prepare Phase I Desk Studies
  • Supervise ground investigations, including trial pitting, window sampling and cable percussion drilling
  • Log samples to BS5930 standards and prepare engineers’ logs using specialist software
  • Conduct gas and groundwater monitoring, including sampling
  • Undertake validation sampling
  • Prepare Certificates of Conformance for contaminated land and geotechnical investigations
  • Assist with technical reporting, including Generic Risk Assessments and Ground Investigation Reports
  • Contribute to internal project management and resource planning, aligned with experience and capability
  • Implement and manage quality and safety procedures for all geo-environmental services
  • Provide effective management and development of direct reports in line with organisational culture, values and HR practices
What they are looking for
  • Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of ground investigation and the geo-environmental sector, including equipment, specifications, contract forms, and relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Experience producing geotechnical and geo-environmental interpretative reports based on factual investigation data and test results
  • Knowledge of UK legislation and guidance relating to contaminated land and geotechnical engineering
  • SSSTS certification
  • CSCS Card
  • Full, valid driving licence
