Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is offering a Specialist Healthcare Science Practitioner role within the Cell Culture Hub at Salisbury. The role covers day-to-day operational activities and acts as lead for the section, with wet lab tissue culture and analytical duties.

You will contribute to analysis of samples from a wide geographic area, support training of staff, and liaise with healthcare professionals to maximise service effectiveness.

Qualifications

Experience as Specialist Healthcare Science Practitioner or equivalent.
Ability to supervise training and education of staff.
Experience with tissue culture and analytical data handling.
Ability to liaise with healthcare professionals to develop the service.

Responsibilities

To supervise/ undertake the processing of pathological specimens for screening, diagnostic and monitoring purposes.
To provide accurate, timely and appropriate analytical data.
To deliver a high-quality service that meets the needs of the patients and service users.
To manage training and education of all grades of staff within the section.
To liaise with other healthcare professionals to develop and maximise the effectiveness of the service.
