Job summary

The Royal Marsden seeks a Genetic Technologist to join the Molecular Diagnostics team in the Clinical Genomics department. You will perform analytical molecular diagnostics investigations, validate new assays, and support NGS/ddPCR workflows within ISO 15189 standards, contributing to a high-quality cancer genomics service.

You will train staff, maintain data management systems, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate results and timely turnaround for patient care.

Qualifications

• BSc in Biological Sciences, Genetics or related discipline.
• Evidence of CPD or postgraduate training.
• Desirable MSc in Genetics, Molecular Biology or related subject.
• RSci registration desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical molecular diagnostics investigations and testing.
• Validate and verify new techniques and tests, including NGS and ddPCR.
• Support quality assurance, data management and equipment maintenance.
• Assist in training staff and visitors; contribute to IT development within the molecular service.
