Job Description

One of our renown clients is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Genetic Engineer to join a leading biotechnology and life sciences organization. This is a hands‑on research and development role focusing on genome editing, gene therapy, and molecular diagnostics using technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9, TALENs, and RNA‑guided DNA modification.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimising genetic engineering protocols, supporting translational research, and contributing to innovative solutions in healthcare, agriculture, and biopharma.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and execute gene‑editing experiments using CRISPR/Cas9, ZFNs, and TALENs
  • Conduct genome mapping, DNA/RNA isolation, and sequencing analysis
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including molecular biologists, biostatisticians, and clinicians
  • Maintain and engineer plasmids, vectors, and delivery systems
  • Optimize protocols for gene expression and knockdown in prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems
  • Perform cellular assays, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and gel electrophoresis
  • Document laboratory findings and prepare technical reports and publications
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory safety protocols
Required Skills
  • Strong proficiency in CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing
  • Molecular cloning, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and sequencing
  • Experience working with mammalian and bacterial cell lines
  • Familiarity with LIMS and laboratory data management tools
  • Excellent documentation and scientific communication skills
