Job summary

A leading power solutions provider based in Birmingham is seeking a Yard Engineer for a permanent position. You will support the workshop and rental teams, preparing and maintaining generators while adhering to health and safety policies. Suitable candidates will have qualifications in mechanical/electrical engineering or proven experience with diesel generators. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £32k DOE and various employee benefits including training, a pension scheme, and wellness support.

Qualifications

  • Qualified in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, Plant, or similar.
  • Completed an approved engineering apprenticeship or have relevant experience.
  • Strong fault‑finding abilities and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, service, and maintain generators for the hire fleet.
  • Carry out repairs on generators at customer sites.
  • Assist with general yard duties, including loading and unloading equipment.
