Generator Technician

Location: Ipswich

Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Generator Technician to join our Critical Power Division in Ipswich. The role is split between field service (75%) and workshop work (25%), supporting customers across the South and East of England.

Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain, and repair diesel generators and related equipment
  • Diagnose faults, carry out load bank testing, and use diagnostic software
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new generators
  • Attend breakdowns, including emergency cover on a rota basis
  • Keep accurate service records and ensure compliance with standards
Requirements
  • Proven experience with diesel generator installation, servicing, and maintenance
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Knowledge of generator control systems (advantageous)
  • Computer literate with good communication skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team
  • Full UK driving licence essential
Benefits
  • £37k-£40k basic salary + paid overtime
