Job summary

Mitsubishi Power EMEA is seeking a Lead Generator Engineer to join our Engineering team. The role serves as the primary technical point of contact for customers, providing expertise and resolution of issues related to generator electrical, mechanical, and auxiliary systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of generator mechanical components (bearings, seals, rotor, end-windings).
• Experience with large rotating machinery; gas/steam turbines a plus.
• Ability to write technical reports, specifications and procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear cross-level communication.
• Customer-focused mindset with ability to handle urgent technical needs.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Business English fluency; Japanese skills beneficial but not essential.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% and support outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and problem resolution for generator systems and auxiliaries.
• Support generator operation, maintenance, commissioning, and outage activities at customer sites.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports, specifications, and presentations.
• Conduct troubleshooting, verification and root cause analysis.
• Liaise between field and design teams to address technical challenges.
• Collaborate with procurement on technical specs, RFQs, and vendor qualifications.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships; ensure timely communication.
• Represent the company during inspections, customer meetings and technical reviews.
