Job description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Generator Service Engineer to join our clients Service Department. You'll be working on industrial diesel generators, carrying out servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and full overhauls on customer sites across the UK.

  • Location: North West (UK-wide travel required)
  • Type: Permanent
  • Salary: 40 to 45k + Overtime + Bonus + Company Vehicle & Fuel Card
  • Hours: Flexible working hours available
  • Holidays: 20 days + Bank Holidays
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years' hands‑on experience in the diesel generator industry.
  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of generator engine controllers.
  • Experience working on a variety of generator manufacturers' equipment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Competent with Word, Excel, and ideally PLC-related software.
  • Strong diagnostics background, particularly with diesel engines.
  • Familiarity with UPS systems.
  • Flexible, organised, and able to juggle multiple tasks.
  • A genuine "can-do" attitude.
