Overview

General Teacher – SEMH/ASC School, Basingstoke. Permanent/Temp to Perm contract - ASAP start. MPS - UPS + SEN Allowance.

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Basingstoke who are looking to appoint a passionate and empathetic General Teacher to join them on a full-time basis, with either permanent or temp-to-perm arrangements.

The school is a secondary SEMH/ASC provision in Basingstoke catering for pupils aged 10–16 years with social, emotional and mental health needs, and other complex needs such as Autism. Class sizes are small to support individual learning and emotional needs.

The newly improved school has high expectations of students and a dedicated staff team to provide a learning environment that enables students to thrive. Facilities include a brand-new IT suite, a state-of-the-art gym, and a new school library.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exciting and engaging lessons across the curriculum that develop learners’ knowledge and skills for students from KS2 to KS4.
  • Meet the individual learning and emotional needs of pupils in a SEMH/ASC setting.
Qualifications & Attributes
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is required.
  • Emotionally intelligent, empathetic, and highly motivated.
  • Experience in an SEN/SEMH environment is desirable but not mandatory; role open to all.
