PepsiCo International Limited in Coventry is seeking a General Support Operator to join our Walkers site. The role involves maintaining a safe and hygienic workplace while supporting the production line with packing, replenishment and waste management.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, able to follow instructions, work as part of a team and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided, with opportunities for progression within PepsiCo’s wider manufacturing

Position summary:

Salary: 28,711.09 per annum

Working Hours: 12 hour shift pattern, of '4 on 4 off' (4xdays, 4xdays off, 4xnights, 4xdays off). This will include workings weekends and bank holidays.

About the job:

Our General Support Operators work in a range of areas including: maintain a safe, healthy and hygienic work place, through ensuring safety and housekeeping standards are met, maintained and exceeded as detailed in The Health & Safety At Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation or Pepsico internal standard. Support the General Operators with multiple tasks like hand packing, stacking, cleaning and zone replenishment.

• Maintaining a safe, healthy and hygienic work place
• Keeping the line supplied at all time during production by understand the importance of line consumables
• Waste Management including the segregation and disposal of waste using the correct streams
• Clear communication with the Frontline employees (Senior Support Manager, Performance Coordinator, Manufacturing Technicians and General operator) to keep bagged and unbagged waste separated
• Have a thorough knowledge of the area with regard for line layout, bin routes, correct placing of raw materials and line consumables
• Supporting General Operators (e.g. Hand packing, hopper filling and carton replenishing etc.)

• Confident communicator with a positive self-starter attitude who is conscientious and focused on results
• Ability to follow instructions and to maintain standards
• Ability to work as a part of a team and willingness to learn how to operate equipment in an autonomous role
• Organised and methodical person, but not afraid of working under pressure
• Flexible and proactive person with the ability to solve basic problems
