Job summary

Courtyard Health Clinic in Musselburgh is seeking experienced GPs to join our private medical team on a sessional, part-time basis. Clinics run Tuesday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with fixed weekly days and 30-minute appointments designed for continuity of care.

You will provide private GP consultations and comprehensive health assessments, focusing on preventative care and personalised medicine, with support from our medical concierge team and on-site diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC GP Register, with no conditions or undertakings.
• Professional indemnity insurance appropriate for private General Practice, including health screening.
• Significant experience practising independently as a GP in the UK.
• Ability to commit to the same full clinic day each week.
• Excellent consultation, communication and clinical decision-making skills.
• A meticulous approach to clinical documentation and follow-up.
• A strong understanding of clinical governance and patient safety.
• A warm, professional and patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Courtyard Health Clinic is a growing independent private medical clinic in Musselburgh, and we are looking for experienced GPs to join our clinical team on a sessional basis.

Our model is designed to give GPs the time and support to practise medicine properly.

Appointments are 30 minutes as standard, continuity of care is central to how we work, and our medical concierge team supports clinicians with bookings, referrals, results chasing and administration.

We currently have fixed weekly clinic days available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 9am to 5pm.

To provide continuity for our members, we are looking for GPs who can commit to the same full clinic day each week. Additional regular days may also be available by agreement.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You will provide a combination of private GP consultations and comprehensive health assessments for our members.

The work is varied and includes:

• Acute and chronic General Practice presentations
• Preventative healthcare and health screening
• Comprehensive health assessments
• Interpretation and follow-up of investigations
• Lifestyle and cardiovascular risk assessment
• Appropriate onward referral and follow-up care

We are particularly interested in GPs who enjoy taking a broader and more preventative view of their patients' health, rather than focusing solely on the presenting complaint.

There is also scope to develop areas of special clinical interest within the clinic. We would be particularly interested in hearing from GPs with experience or a special interest in women's health, menopause, men's health, diabetes, weight management or cardiovascular prevention.
