General Practitioner (GP) – Boots UK

Boots UK, Islington, England, United Kingdom. Permanent contract.

Hours: 24–40 hours per week, available part‑time or full‑time. Weekend work 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday or Sunday) with additional availability welcomed. Remote or hybrid; some office time at our Angel, Islington support office.

About The Role

As part of our Boots Online Doctor team, you will provide high‑quality patient care through asynchronous, message‑based consulting, telephone and video consultations. You will support a mission to deliver safe, accessible, modern care via digital channels, and collaborate with digital teams to shape inclusive virtual care pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care through message‑based, telephone, and video consultations
• Act as Duty Doctor, offering clinical oversight to non‑medical prescribers
• Participate in regular medical learning events and ongoing professional development
• Engage with the team in daily virtual coffee catch‑ups to foster connection and collaboration
• Flexible working options available – part‑time or full‑time (minimum of 3 days per week)
• Weekend commitment: minimum of 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday and Sunday); additional availability welcomed

What You'll Need To Have

• GMC‑registered GP with a minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience
• Digitally confident, with experience in online consultations and digital clinical systems or strong motivation to work in digital‑first healthcare
• Proficient in digital platforms, telehealth systems, and electronic health records
• Strong communication skills and confident in independent clinical decision‑making
• Open to innovation and modern care models
• Collaborative across clinical and digital teams
• Patient‑focused, with a strong empathy‑driven approach
• Passionate about telehealth and digital healthcare innovation

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

• Experience or strong interest in service design, clinical governance, or digital safety in digital healthcare
• Passion for improving patient care via digital and asynchronous models
• Familiarity with remote prescribing, asynchronous consultations, or digital triage
• Comfortable with key digital tools and online care environments
