Main duties of the job

In this flexible GP role, you will provide a blend of same‑day triage in our GP Hub and routine face‑to‑face appointments in the main practice. On hub days, you will work until 6.30pm and focus on rapid triage, urgent care needs, and directing patients to the most appropriate pathway.

You will also contribute to on‑call activity, support the multidisciplinary team, and help ensure smooth patient flow across both settings. The role includes opportunities to lead or participate in quality improvement work, supervise and mentor colleagues, and take an active part in clinical discussions and decision‑making. 3. Job Purpose: This role provides flexible clinical cover across both the GP Hub and the main practice. The postholder will deliver high‑quality patient care through a combination of same‑day triage, on‑call duties, and routine face‑to‑face clinics. The role is designed to support operational resilience by flexing between service areas depending on daily staffing and patient demand.

The GP will work efficiently and safely in a fast‑paced environment, contribute to leadership and quality improvement activities, and support the development of the wider clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Provide same‑day triage within the GP Hub, managing acute presentations and directing patients to appropriate pathways.
• Make timely, safe clinical decisions based on the information available, escalating where necessary.
• Provide routine and urgent face‑to‑face appointments when working in the main practice.
• Undertake on‑call duties as required, supporting the management of same‑day demand.
• Work until 6.30pm on assigned hub days.
• Manage a broad range of clinical conditions in line with best practice, NICE guidance and local policies.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with national and local prescribing guidelines.
