Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced General Practice Nurse for flexible regional sessions across Potton. You will support GP practices with essential nursing duties, chronic disease care, and treatment room procedures in well-supported environments.

The role offers autonomy and a structured workload with options across weekdays, evenings, or weekends, and ad-hoc or ongoing opportunities depending on availability. Enhanced DBS may be required and immunisation competencies are advantageous.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Strong treatment room competency and independence in GP settings.
• Experience with EMIS Web or SystmOne is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Delivering treatment room procedures including wound care and dressings
• Supporting chronic disease reviews in line with local care plans
• Administering adult and childhood immunisations (if trained)
• Performing smear tests where cytology-trained
• Conducting NHS Health Checks and routine assessments
• Maintaining accurate digital clinical notes
• Supporting general nursing duties as required by the clinic

This role offers structured treatment room and clinical review work within well-supported GP environments, giving you the opportunity to manage routine primary care nursing activity with autonomy and consistency.

You will support local clinical teams with essential nursing duties, chronic disease activity and day-to-day treatment room procedures. Each service provides clear protocols to ensure safe and coordinated patient care.
