General Parks Manager Birkenhead

Are you passionate about creating vibrant, sustainable outdoor spaces for communities to enjoy? We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the management of a diverse portfolio of green spaces across the Birkenhead area. This exciting role covers parks, open spaces, allotments, countryside and coastal areas, playgrounds, events, trees, and cemeteries, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards and accessible for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate operational teams to deliver exceptional services.
  • Develop and implement site management plans, including nature conservation projects.
  • Manage budgets effectively, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Build strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders to enhance green spaces.
  • Support staff development and foster a culture of excellence.
About the candidate

Do you have proven leadership and team management experience along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Do you have a genuine passion for improving and maintaining public green spaces along with strong financial and operational management skills with experience in community engagement and partnership working.
