Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a General Operative on behalf of a well-established engineering client based in Alsager, near Stoke-on-Trent. You will perform production tasks, use hand tools, and support a busy team in a safe, quality-focused environment.

Day and night shifts available with pay rates of £12.72/h days and £16.96/h nights; hours 7:00-3:45 (Fri early finish) or 22:00-06:00, with ongoing temp-to-perm opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering/production environment desirable.
• Use of hand tools beneficial.
• Full training may be provided for the right candidate.

Meridian Business Support are currently recruiting General Operatives on behalf of our client, a well-established and reputable engineering company based in Alsager, Stoke-on-Trent. These are ongoing temporary-to-permanent opportunities, offering the chance to build a long‑term career within a successful engineering environment.

The Role As a General Operative, your duties will include:

• Using hand tools
• Carrying out light sheet metal work
• Masking and fettling
• General production and assembly tasks
• Working as part of a busy production team
• Following health & safety and quality procedures

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an engineering or production environment. Experience using hand tools would be an advantage, although full training may be provided for the right candidate. We're looking for reliable, hardworking individuals who are keen to learn and develop their skills.

Pay & Hours

Days: £12.72 per hour, with the potential for an increase as your experience develops

Nights: £16.96 per hour

Day shift: 7:00am - 3:45pm, with an early finish on Fridays

Night shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am
