Job summary

Danny Sullivan Group is recruiting two General Operatives for a brand-new bitumen facility in Avonmouth, working with Colas. This long-term opportunity offers full training, a modern site, and chances to progress into senior roles such as Team Leader.

Typical shifts include 7:00-16:00 on weekdays, with future night shifts 15:00-midnight Sun-Thu; a 12-hour shift occurs every 35 days. £14.50 per hour PAYE. The employer promotes equal opportunity and a safe, inclusive workplace.

General Operative - Long-Term Opportunity at Bitumen Facility in Avonmouth

Danny Sullivan Group is currently recruiting for 2 reliable General Operatives to join a long-term opportunity at a brand-new bitumen facility in Avonmouth, working with Colas.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern facility with long-term work available, full training provided and opportunities to progress into senior roles, including Team Leader positions.

Your Role as a General Operative

• Carry out general operative duties across the bitumen facility
• Support the day-to-day running of the facility and operational activities
• Follow site procedures and instructions to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised working environment
• Work effectively alongside colleagues and site management
• Follow all health & safety procedures and site rules
• Attend and complete all required site training
• Be flexible to work both day and night shifts as operational requirements change
• Maintain high standards of reliability, punctuality and professionalism

What We're Looking For as a General Operative

• Previous experience in a general operative or site-based role preferred
• No specific qualifications or certificates required - full training provided
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns
• Good understanding of health & safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Successful completion of a drugs and alcohol test is required

Shift Patterns

Initial shifts: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm

Future night shifts: Sunday to Thursday, 3:00pm-midnight

Friday and Saturday off when working the night shift pattern

A 12-hour shift will be required every 35 days

Flexibility is essential as operational requirements develop
