General Operative, Neway – North West, Wirral / Cheshire

To support our teams working on major UK shutdowns and maintenance projects, we are looking for more general operatives.

Able to rely on and safety‑conscious, you’ll be supporting project teams with standby duties, breathing apparatus (BA) trailer operations, and general site support activities.

So as a General Operative at Neway, what will you do?
  • You’ll be on standby duties for confined space and high‑risk operations
  • Operating and monitoring BA trailers and associated life‑support systems, you’ll be there for the team when needed
  • You’ll conduct pre‑use checks, equipment maintenance, and ensure that emergency response systems are ready
  • Assisting with general site tasks and equipment handling, you’ll ensure a safe system of work is set up
  • You’ll maintain high levels of situational awareness and will communicate with entry teams and supervisors
  • Recording daily activities and safety checks accurately, you’ll adhere to all health and safety regulations contributing to our strong site safety culture
  • General cleaning activities, maintaining a ‘tidy at all times’ policy
And what are we looking for?
  • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport or CSCS Card
  • Confined Space – High Risk Entry Certification (with full breathing apparatus use)
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of confined space and BA operations
  • Strong awareness of health and safety protocols in industrial environments
  • Ability to work as part of a disciplined team in a high‑risk setting
  • Physically fit and capable of working in demanding site conditions
  • Flexibility to travel and work on different client sites across the UK
It will be great if you also have:
  • PASMA, IPAF, or Working at Height certification
  • Manual handling or first aid training
  • Previous experience on industrial shutdowns or live process sites
