A healthcare provider in the UK is looking for a GP to manage a diverse patient caseload in a primary care setting. The post-holder will undertake consultations, manage prescriptions, and develop care plans according to clinical guidelines. Full GMC registration and CCT are essential. The role promises professional development and involvement in quality patient care.

The post-holderwill manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primarycare setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered andtemporary patients.
To undertake duties governed by the contract and Direct and LocalEnhanced Services comprising a variety of duties, including face to face surgery consultations,telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking andsigning repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork andcorrespondence in a timely fashion.
Primary Care Networks (PCNs),supported by Dacorum Healthcare Providers Limited (DHPL), are developing newand exciting additional roles under the 2020 scheme to support GPs and clinicalteams at enhancing patient services in the local community.
There is a wide socio-economicand demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting andvaried case mix. The role will contribute to improving quality of patient careacross the network of practices.

ClinicalResponsibilities
To undertakeduties governed by the contract and Direct and Local Enhanced Servicesincluding:
A varietyof duties including face to face surgery consultations, telephone consultationsand queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeatprescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in atimely fashion
Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisation
Assessingthe health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblems
Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Inconsultation with patients and in line with current practice disease managementprotocols, developing care plans for health
Providingcounselling and health education
Admittingor discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other careproviders as appropriate
Recordingclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collectingdata for audit purposes
Administration- dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters, task, emailsand other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
Compilingand issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribingin accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) wheneverthis is clinically appropriate
In generalthe post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Cover allthe clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate includinginitiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondarycare or to other providers as appropriate
Developcare and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with currentPractice disease management protocols as well as wider guidance such as thatfrom NICE.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£10,262 a sessionplus 5% Fringe Allowance (capped at £2,198pa) paid monthly
