Overview

4C are representing a global engineering and fabrication company seeking to appoint a General Manager to lead and develop the company’s precision engineering division.

Our client designs, manufactures and delivers precision metalwork and renewable energy infrastructure projects, working globally as a trusted partner to OEMs as well as working in partnership with industry leaders across the UK, Ireland and EU through their precision engineering division. In the last 10 years the company has grown from a single site operation to having three manufacturing sites and offices in the UK, USA and Asia.

This newly created position represents a pivotal appointment in the next phase of our client’s growth. The General Manager will take full P&L responsibility for the precision engineering division. The role holder will be responsible for leading, managing and driving profitable growth of the company's precision engineering operation, driving efficiency, change management and digital transformation, increasing production capacity, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality output.

The successful candidates will have the below skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in a senior operations role with P&L responsibility ideally within manufacturing, distribution and/or supply chain with increasing roles and responsibilities.
  • Proven track record of managing costs and taking responsibility for achieving financial/business results.
  • Experience of leading change management, significant digital transformation, capacity planning and the successful design, implementation, tracking and delivery of KPIs.
  • Proven track record of creating and embedding a continuous improvement culture and initiatives that have measurably improved production capacity, quality, and efficiency across a multi-site environment.
  • Experience in successfully translating strategy into a coherent business plan and implementing across the business to achieve intended results.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing a multi-functional team, driving results and improvements in each area of responsibility.
