Overview

General Manager (Members' Dining) - AELTC Wimbledon | Full-Time / Permanent – £60,000 + benefits. Leading a premium hospitality team at the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), delivering five-star service across Members Dining and catering operations at indoor tennis courts. Role supports year-round exclusive private Members’ Club operations and the unrivalled hospitality during The Championships.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will drive a high-performing team, ensuring an exceptional guest experience for Members and event guests, while upholding the Club’s prestigious reputation.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional food and customer service standards across all areas of the Clubhouse, ensuring a premium experience for Members at all times.
  • Build strong relationships with Members through proactive communication, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Lead and inspire a hands-on, service-driven team; manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development to meet goals.
  • Oversee rotas and staffing levels for Clubhouse service and outdoor events.
  • Ensure accurate financial processes, including daily sales reconciliation, member billing, and cash handling procedures.
  • Uphold Health & Safety and Food Safety standards, complying with Compass Group policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the AELTC Club Office and internal committees to support events, match-day catering, and KPI achievement.
  • Maintain visibility and a calm, professional presence for Members, fostering a five-star dining experience.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience managing diverse teams within private Members’ clubs or five-star establishments.
  • Flexible availability to support a seven-day-a-week operation.
  • Confident and personable; comfortable engaging with senior executives across industries to build meaningful connections.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated examples of overcoming challenges.
  • Impeccably groomed with a polished, professional appearance; calm, dignified demeanor with flexibility to changing work demands.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to plan, prioritise, and manage daily tasks efficiently.
