Job description
General Manager – Haematology, UCLH

We are recruiting a full time General Manager in Haematology in the Cancer Division at UCLH. The successful candidate will have strong operational management experience and will be expected to provide operational and service improvement leadership for their department. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the service, effective management of budgets, workforce, performance and delivery of cancer performance targets. The role is also an exciting opportunity to work on an array of service improvements and transformations. Candidates should have experience of working closely with multidisciplinary teams and be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and strong values based in line with the UCLH Trust values.

Scope of Service
  • Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant
  • Haematological oncology (Lymphoma, Myeloma, Acute and Chronic Leukaemias, Myelodysplastic disorders, Myeloproliferative disorders)
  • Haemoglobinopathies
  • Coagulation and Thrombosis (including Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura)
  • General Haematology
  • Stem cell harvests, gene therapy and immunotherapy (cellular therapy unit)
  • Apheresis unit in the Macmillan Cancer Centre
  • The Red Cell Network – nationally commissioned specialist TTP centre
Key Relationships

Works closely with laboratory Haematology services, specialist integrated haematological malignant diagnostic service, academic staff at UCL Cancer Institute and other NHS sites including University College Hospital, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, Macmillan Cancer Centre, etc.
