Job description

We are working with Big K Holdings, a well-established manufacturer and distributor of solid fuel products, in their search for a General Manager to oversee all Warehouse, Logistics and Distribution activity at their King's Lynn site. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering full operational ownership across a busy, high-volume environment supplying major retailers nationwide.

The Role As General Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe and efficient running of all warehousing, order fulfilment, transport, and inventory management operations. You'll ensure products are received, stored, picked and dispatched accurately, supporting strong service levels and on-time deliveries.

Working closely with Directors, you will lead your warehouse teams, optimise processes, and maintain robust stock controls, while ensuring the site meets all H&S, legal and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading all warehouse, logistics and dispatch operations on site
• Managing goods-in, storage, picking and loading activities to meet customer deadlines
• Ensuring stock accuracy through strong inventory control, cycle counting and reconciliation
• Driving improvements in warehouse layout, space utilisation and material flow
• Managing transport coordination, route planning and vehicle loading
• Overseeing forklift operations and ensuring staff are trained and compliant
• Ensuring full compliance with H&S standards, legal obligations and operational procedures
• Leading and developing warehouse and logistics teams to deliver strong performance
• Monitoring KPIs including stock accuracy, pick rates, dispatch performance and damages
• Working with the senior management team to support continuous improvement and site development
• Managing budgets for labour, transport, storage and consumables

About you:

• Strong background in warehouse, logistics or distribution leadership
• Experience managing high-volume operations, ideally in manufacturing or FMCG
• Excellent understanding of stock control, inventory processes and warehouse systems
• Hands‑on leader with the ability to motivate warehouse, forklift and shift teams
• Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels
• Commercially aware with experience managing operational budgets
• Knowledge of H&S and compliance requirements within a warehouse environment
