Job description

We are recruiting for a people focused General Manager to run the Town & Gown in Cambridge. As well as a busy pub The Town and Gown features an intimate fringe theatre on the 2nd floor. The bar is an all-day dining experience open for brunch, lunch and dinner, and offers our guests freshly prepared contemporary food. Locally brewed beers and spirits to handmade cocktails, fringe theatre/Comedy Club to Gin Tasting, to live bands to party with!

The Theatre is a revival of the building’s history former Arts Cinema from 1933 trading as the Cosmopolitan Cinema. Our Black Box Theatre located on the top floor of the venue is a wonderfully intimate fringe theatre with an abundance of shows and experiences from the moment we open the doors.

Management Profile

The right candidate will need to deliver exceptional guest service and standards, strong business controls as well demonstrating entrepreneurial flair. They will enjoy working in a high energy town centre bar and have a passion for guest service. The ability to lead and inspire a large team is fundamental for the success of the business. The pub is ideally suited for a candidate who has high street experience and is looking to take the next stage in their career. A passion for the arts would be an added bonus.

Due to the sales volume of this business, we do not anticipate it suitable for a first-time appointment.
