General Maintenance Operative - Central Belt

Salary: Up to £35,500 + Company Vehicle

Location: Central Belt (occasional travel across Scotland)

Are you an experienced Maintenance Operative looking to join a growing Facilities Management business with great career prospects? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, professional team working across a diverse range of sites throughout the Central Belt.

The Role

As a General Maintenance Operative, you'll play a key role in delivering first-class maintenance and compliance services to commercial clients. You'll carry out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, and well maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general building maintenance, minor repairs, and basic fabric tasks
• Undertake water hygiene testing (temperature checks, flushing, sampling)
• Support with building compliance checks including emergency lighting and fire safety
• Assist with statutory testing and record keeping
• Liaise with clients and site contacts in a professional and customer-focused manner
• Provide occasional cover across Scotland when required
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards

About You

• Previous experience within Facilities Management or building maintenance
• Good understanding of compliance, water hygiene, and general maintenance tasks
• A hands‑on, proactive approach and the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential
• Must be able to pass a DBS check
