Job Title: General Ledger Accountant

Location: Manchester, Hybrid (3 days office based, 2 days remote per week)

Salary: GBP48,000 – GBP55,000 per annum + Study Support

We are recruiting for a General Ledger Accountant to join a large, international group supporting operations across Great Britain and other regions.

Based in Manchester, this role offers broad exposure, regular contact with Finance Directors, CEOs / General Managers, and involvement in key month–end and audit activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make consistent and accurate financial bookings, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare fully reconciled ledgers (balance sheet and P&L) that meet statutory, legal, and Group requirements.
  • Deliver accurate and timely ledgers as part of the month–end close for entities within the Northern Europe Region (SAP and FRANGO).
  • Contribute to an efficient general ledger and closing process across the region.
  • Support audit preparation and respond to audit queries.
  • Assist with ad–hoc finance projects to improve processes and efficiency.
About You
  • Part–qualified or newly qualified CIMA accountant (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of double–entry and core accounting principles.
  • Experience working in large–scale or multinational organisations.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with senior stakeholders including Finance Directors and CEOs.
  • Strong IT skills, ideally with SAP experience.
  • Proactive and self–reliant, with strong attention to detail.
