Job summary

Musgrave Group Plc in Belfast invites applications for a General Assistant at the SuperValu Kings Road store. You will help customers, merchandise stock and maintain store standards to deliver a friendly shopping experience.

No retail experience is required as full training is provided; we value a positive attitude and teamwork, and offer ongoing development, family-like culture, and benefits.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English, grade C or above or equivalent.
• 6 months experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Strong teamwork and willingness to learn.
• Full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at manned or self-checkouts with excellent service.
• Merchandising, stock rotation and ordering across store areas.
• Adhere to health and safety policies to protect customers and colleagues.
• Maintain high standards of work and assist with stock counts as needed.

The Role

The role of a general assistant is to go above and beyond to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers, through merchandising stock and serving the public.

What you’ll be doing

• Serving customers via manned or self-scan checkouts, whilst providing excellent customer service.
• Merchandising, ordering, date checking and rotation of stock in all areas of the store including fresh, ambient, and frozen.
• Adhere to company and health and safety policy and procedures to protect yourself, customers, colleagues, and 3 rd parties.
• Ensure a high standard of work in everything you do.
• Stock take preparation and counting, as and when required.

What we’re looking for

No need to worry if you have no previous retail experience, full training will be provided.

We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude, works well as part of a team and is open to learning and expanding on their skill set.

• GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent) and/or 6 months previous experience gained in retail or customer service role.
• Previous experience of working in a team
