Job summary

Anchor House in Southampton, part of Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Foundation Trust, seeks a consultant psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership for adults with complex needs within the Community Mental Health Teams.

The post requires MRCPsych or recognised equivalent, GMC registration, and section 12(2) approval. You will supervise junior doctors, contribute to service planning, teaching and research, and engage in annual appraisals and professional development.

Qualifications

• MRCPsych or recognised equivalent is required.
• Eligible for the Specialist Register, or within 12 months of CCT at interview.
• CCT in general adult psychiatry is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical leadership and care for patients with complex needs.
• Complete timely administrative tasks linked to patient care.
• Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively.
• Take part in service and business planning.
• Take part in annual consultant appraisal.
• Attend the Trust academic programme and CPD lectures.
• Maintain GMC registration and MMC framework compliance.
• Participate in annual job plan reviews with clinical managers.
• Supervise junior medical staff and assess competencies.
• Ensure Working Time Directive compliance and policy adherence.
