Job description

BCP Salary Band 7 - appointments will be made at the starting point of the salary range. 37 hours per week, 41 weeks per year (term time plus inset days, and ten days during the holidays).

It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and skilled Team Leader to oversee the general administration staff working across our Campuses. Our reception teams are the welcoming face of Linwood School and are absolutely central to the smooth‑running of our campuses and, particularly, to support communication with families. This is a permanent post, working 37 hours per week for 41 weeks per year (term time plus inset days, and ten days during the holidays). The role will be based at our Linwood Campus on Alma Road, Winton but the successful candidate will need to be able to travel to all of our Campuses on a regular basis. The working hours will generally be from 8am to 4pm, but some flexibility is required.

Linwood School is an ‘Outstanding’ multi‑campus, day special school for children and young people aged 3 – 19. Our students have a wide range of special educational needs including moderate (MLD), severe (SLD) and profound (PMLD) and complex learning difficulties (CLDD) and those on the Autism spectrum. We offer a variety of curriculum pathways to meet those needs and ensure that all our pupils achieve the best possible outcomes. It is essential that our students have a safe, calm and welcoming environment in which to learn.

What we need:
  • A skilled administrator with extensive knowledge of school systems and processes (ideally in a special school environment).
  • An effective manager of people; able to support colleagues pastorally and oversee practical arrangements to ensure cover levels are maintained.
  • A colleague who can offer a warm welcome to our students and their families; being the first point of contact for them and for visitors.
  • A safeguarding and safety approach; our front desks are the guardians to maintain controlled access and consistently apply our safeguarding arrangements during school hours.
  • A continuous improvement mindset; able to assess our systems and processes and always look for a better way for us to work – finding consistency, efficiency and using technology to our advantage.
  • A peer group leader for all administrators; facilitating a support network across our various locations and ensuring that their development and training needs are met.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the postholder to have access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the multi‑campus working environment.

Benefits
  • An Employee Assistance Programme to support staff wellbeing.
  • Career development.
  • Comprehensive induction training and ongoing on the job training.
  • Long Service Awards.
