Handelsbanken seeks an AI Engineer to design, build and maintain AI-enabled backend services and data pipelines across banking workflows. You will integrate ML and GenAI capabilities, ensure secure deployment, and collaborate with product managers and data scientists to scale solutions.

The role emphasizes pragmatic problem-solving, strong software discipline, and alignment with risk, security and governance teams in a flexible, hybrid environment across the UK.

Qualifikationen

• Strong software engineering background in production systems.
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL for reliable services and data workflows.
• Experience designing APIs, backend services, batch processes, event-driven workflows or data processing apps.

Aufgaben

• Design, build and maintain backend services, APIs and orchestration for AI and data-driven use cases across the bank.
• Develop robust, production-grade software with modern engineering practices and secure development standards.
• Integrate AI models and GenAI capabilities into banking workflows and CRM systems.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and service integrations for AI products.
• Support deployment and operation of models, including monitoring, logging and incident response.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to productionise models and expose outputs via reliable services.
• Implement safeguards, audit trails and access controls for AI use cases.
• Work with Risk, Compliance, Security and Architecture to meet governance and resilience expectations.
• Contribute to reusable engineering patterns and deployment standards for AI-enabled solutions.
• Support experimentation and prototyping while ensuring scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Foster a high-quality engineering culture focused on pragmatism and delivery.
