We are seeking an experienced Gearbox Fitter to join our dynamic team.

As our Gearbox Fitter you will be responsible for:
  • Involvement of day-to-day workshop in relation to quality, H&S and environmental activities.
  • Dismantling of all types of gearboxes producing concise accurate reports for management
  • Assembling gearboxes accurately so they are ready for installation
  • Interpreting engineering data and documentation such as engineering drawings, technical data and computer-generated programmes
  • Working under minimum supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work, you undertake
  • Being pro-active in finding solutions to problems and identifying areas for improving the business
  • Ensuring standard work practices and procedures are being followed
  • Responding to emergency situations
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
  • Apprenticeship in associated field or adequate experience
  • Health & safety, environmental or quality training would an advantage but not essential
  • Working knowledge of various types of gearboxes
  • Ability to work to instruction and on own initiative
  • Selecting and using a range of measuring and testing equipment to check components are to the required quality and accuracy
  • Read and interpret engineering data
  • To be able to demonstrate problem solving skills to solve and repair issues efficiently and effectively
