GCSE Maths Lecturer

Salary - £28,582 - £36,084 depending on experience & qualifications, pay award pending

Hours - 37 hours per week, all year round

Contract - Permanent

Location - Peterborough

Do you love making maths exciting and accessible for learners? We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated GCSE Maths Lecturer to join our friendly team at Peterborough College. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire learners, help them achieve their potential, and develop practical maths skills that will support their future education and careers.

What you'll do
  • Deliver engaging GCSE maths lessons across a range of learner abilities.
  • Plan and develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and learning resources, including online content.
  • Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and set SMART targets.
  • Support students to achieve their goals and build confidence in maths.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, using technology and blended learning.
  • Participate in course reviews, internal verification, recruitment activities, and student enrolment.
  • Contribute to the wider faculty by maintaining quality standards and supporting learner success.
About you
  • Qualified to teach maths (Level 3 or 4, HND, degree, or equivalent).
  • Ideally holds or is working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., DTTLS, Cert Ed, PGCE).
  • Experienced in teaching maths in an FE or vocational setting (or industry experience with a passion for teaching).
  • Confident using digital learning tools and e-learning platforms.
  • Enthusiastic, approachable, and able to motivate learners of all abilities.
  • Committed to safeguarding, equality, and creating an inclusive learning environment.

Assessor and internal verifier qualifications are desirable but not essential.
