Pearson is seeking a Principal Examiner for GCSE History to maintain standards across externally assessed units and oversee standardisation. You will lead standardisation meetings, supervise examiner quality, and collaborate with the Assessment team to ensure consistent marking and accurate award decisions.

The role requires experience in QA, moderation, and strong communication, with the ability to train and coordinate standards-related activities across centres.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of quality assurance and assessment practice.
• History of moderation and/or marking a regulated qualification.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead/train such as standardisation and other standards-related activities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the specification for your specialist sector.
• Provide examples of leading quality assurance activities.

Responsabilités

• Lead standardisation and moderation meetings with examiners.
• Oversee marking accuracy and consistency across centres.
• Prepare and review assessment materials and mark schemes.
• Provide training and guidance to Examiners and Supervisors.
• Report on series performance and feedback to the Assessment team.
