Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident GCSE English Tutor to provide focused 1:1 support to a learner in St Helens. The role is part-time (5-10 hours per week) with a start date in September 2026.

You will help develop subject knowledge, strengthen exam skills and encourage a positive attitude towards English. DBS via Update Service and Right to Work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Strong GCSE English subject knowledge and ability to tutor at secondary level.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience in GCSE English preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to adapt sessions to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised GCSE English tuition 1:1.
• Support reading, writing and comprehension skills.
• Assist with exam preparation and revision.
• Identify areas requiring additional support and adapt resources.
• Track progress throughout the placement.
