Hours: Full-time & Part-time

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach GCSE English/Functional Skills English to learners from Entry Level to Level 2 within the college.
  • Develop lesson plans to cover the full duration of each lesson effectively.
  • Deliver lessons using various teaching styles suited to the content.
  • Create an engaging and lively classroom environment.
  • Instruct students on the structure and content of the English language.
  • Teach spelling, word meanings, and pronunciation.
  • Emphasize grammar, sentence structure, and composition rules.
  • Encourage critical thinking in literature and poetry studies.
  • Guide students in analyzing media reports, advertisements, and news reports.
Skills & Experience:
  • Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS (dated within the last 3 months or on the update service).
  • A UK-recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in English or related field.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of teaching techniques and English topics.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Experience in delivering English lessons.
