Job summary

Nescot invites applications for an English Lecturer to teach GCSE English Language and Functional Skills to 16–18 year-olds, and to adult learners including apprentices. You’ll use Google Classroom and other educational software, monitor progress, and contribute to assessment planning.

The college offers a supportive environment, safeguarding is a priority, and applicants may be required to undergo DBS checks. Closing date 28th July 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English GCSE and Functional Skills to young people.
• Excellent communication skills.
• C&G Award in Education & Training or above is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach GCSE English Language to 16–18 year-old students.
• Teach Functional Skills English to 16–18 year-old students.
• Teach GCSE and Functional Skills English to adult learners, including apprentices.
• Be confident using Google Classroom and other educational software.
• Monitor progress and support improvement through target setting and intervention.
• Contribute to and deliver the department's assessment plan.
