Job summary

Source Technology Limited is seeking a GCP Data Engineer (Python/BigQuery/Snowflake) for a remote 6+ month contract Anywhere in the EU. The role requires expert GCP knowledge, 5+ years in data engineering, and experience with ELT/ETL, databases, and data orchestration tools.

You will collaborate with fast-paced clients, helping modernize data platforms and drive efficient cloud-based transformations. The position is contractor-based with a competitive €75/hour cap and extensions possible,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or equivalent role.
• Strong skills with Python or a JVM language (Java/Scala).
• Advanced SQL knowledge; experience with relational databases and complex queries.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, specifically BigQuery or Snowflake.
• Experience with production data platforms on public cloud.
• Familiarity with GCP native data toolset is preferred.
• Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines for large datasets.
• Experience with dbt or Airbyte is preferred.
• Experience developing Spark or Hadoop applications.
• Familiarity with data orchestration (Airflow/Cloud Composer) and IaC (Terraform).
• Knowledge of modern DataOps practices and streaming/batch architectures.
• Good internal and customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help clients migrate and modernize data architectures on Google Cloud.
• Build and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines and data warehouses.
• Collaborate with customer teams in a co-development style to accelerate delivery.
• Contribute to data architecture decisions and tool recommendations.
