A global technology solutions provider is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join their Government Services team in Washington, DC. This role requires an active Secret security clearance and 5+ years in cloud engineering or DevOps. The candidate will be responsible for building and optimizing scalable cloud solutions, and will leverage their expertise in AWS and GCP. Job description

This is a full-time direct hire position and you must currently have an active Secret Security Clearance or above. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship, 1099 status, or work with C2C for this role.

Location: On‑site in Washington, DC

What will you be doing?

World Wide Technology, LLC has an opportunity available for a Cloud Engineer to support our Government Services team in building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong DevOps experience, scripting proficiency, and cloud engineering expertise within AWS environments, with exposure to GCP and multi‑cloud operations considered a bonus. This position will focus on GCP, Azure, and AWS Architecture and support within a customer's environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Information and Architecture solutions to ensure efficient manipulation, organization and sharing of information, data and/or master data in data‑lake, lake‑house and data‑mart constructs.
  • Develop and maintain functional scripts in PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate cloud infrastructure tasks
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain AWS & GCP cloud infrastructure, with a focus on reliability and scalability
  • Create and manage IAM policies and roles, ensuring proper access control and compliance
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Leverage scripting for DevOps pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, and configuration management
  • Ensure adherence to established cloud governance and security practices
  • Work with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) including folder structure management and policy configuration
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and CI/CD‑related issues
  • Support partners in the migration of their data to the Cloud
Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance required to start with ability to obtain Top Secret
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles
  • Experience developing and managing Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IAC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager
  • Experience supporting and optimizing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, Jenkins or Cloud Build
  • Previous experience implementing federal cloud compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST) and enforcing best practices for security and governance.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Hands‑on experience with GCP structure Management and policy configuration
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Comfortable creating IAM policies, roles, and managing access structures
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Ability to jump into an established agile environment and contribute from day one
  • Willingness to research and self‑study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritize deadlines as needed to deliver results
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Mentors and coaches colleagues and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Preferred but not required
  • Experience working with federal agencies or government cloud projects.
  • Knowledge of Azure Identity Management (Active Directory, Role‑Based Access Control - RBAC).
  • Experience supporting Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline tracking.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management tools (Azure Cost Management, FinOps principles).
Clearance Requirements
  • Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $126,000.00 to $162,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
