Job description

Location: DIRFT BUSINESS PARK, DIRFT, NN6 7GZ

Hours: AVERAGE 42 HOURS PER WEEK

Shift: 4 on 4 off days and nights

Duties as aGatehouse Security Officer

  • The on-coming officer will arrive in time for a handover from the off-going officer, after first reporting to the Security Control room to log-on for duty and collect a radio, circa 06:45/18:45
  • The controlled movement of all vehicles are to be monitored and signed in at Lorry Park
  • Greet all guests in a welcoming manner, regardless of their attitude towards the security officer. If needed, escalate matters to the Security Manager.
  • Manage the vehicle entry process for vehicles entering through the Gatehouse
  • Any damage’s incurred to the Gatehouse infrastructure and/or fabric or any accidents and incidents should be reported immediately to the Security Control Room and a log should be made in the DOB in Red Pen, with a corresponding statement from the officer as to how the events occurred.

  • Be well organised and have methodical approach
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
  • Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
  • Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availability
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from the staff and stakeholders
  • An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to staff and visitors’ needs
